Inspired by Farid ud-Din Attar's poem, The Conference of the Birds, I created a bird to reflect my current state. Like the birds in the Sufi poem, I am trying to discover myself but I am afraid my flaws inhibit my journey. Frozen in the midst of taking off, I wonder if the bird will fly. The bird is made purely with tape. I wanted to play with the duality of durability and fragility. Tape is both the foundation and feathers of the bird.
